Sadie Dittenber joins Idaho EdNews

Recent College of Idaho graduate Sadie Dittenber joined EdNews on Monday. She’ll cover Idaho’s K-12 politics and policy, filling in for Blake Jones, who left in May for national political-reporting organization Politico.

Sadie Dittenber and her dad celebrated her graduation from the College of Idaho in May.

Dittenber was born and raised in Idaho and is a graduate of Middleton High and the College of Idaho, where she earned a degree in International Political Economy, and minors in journalism, English and natural sciences. She spent two years as the editor of The Coyote, the C of I’s monthly newspaper, where she focused on campus politics and editorial writing. She also reported for the Idaho Press, covering local government, housing development and the impacts of COVID in small-town Idaho at the Kuna Melba News.

“Sadie is passionate about Idaho and journalism, and we’re thrilled to be her professional choice,” said EdNews managing editor Jennifer Swindell. “She’s smart and well-trained and has a bright future.”

Dittenber brings an understanding of local government, politics and an interest in community journalism to EdNews. She will write breaking news, cover the November elections and follow the impending transition in the State Department of Education.
