Idaho Education News today is launching the first episode of our new video podcast, “The EdNews Show.”
The show will feature news, experts and interviews that add another dimension to the quality journalism that our readers rely on. In addition to special guests, the show will include conversations between EdNews reporters to tell the story behind the stories we publish.
The first episode features the sponsors of a 2026 bill regulating the growing virtual school sector, Reps. Soñia Galaviz, D-Boise, and Doug Pickett, R-Oakley. They talk to reporter Kevin Richert about the future of virtual education.
“These schools are funded with tax dollars,” Galaviz said in the episode. “These are taxpayer dollars and so we have every right to put forward a system of accountability, transparency and oversight.”

The full video is available on our YouTube page and an audio-only version is available on our Soundcloud. Look for new episodes at least once a month.
