Jason Knopp has been named the Idaho School Boards Association’s director of strategic advocacy. He will lead lobbying efforts on behalf of school boards before the Legislature.

Jason Knopp

Knopp has spent a decade serving in multiple positions on the ISBA executive board, including as president, Region 3 chair and vice chair. He’s an experienced school board trainer and currently serves as the Melba School District’s board chair. He has been a member of Melba’s board since 2013.

Knopp is leaving the Nampa Fire Department, where he has worked for 18 years, most recently as a captain.

“Jason’s deep roots in school board service and his firsthand understanding of the challenges and responsibilities board members face make him an exceptional fit for this role,” said Misty Swanson, ISBA’s executive director. “He knows what our members need from their state association and how to effectively advocate on their behalf.”

Knopp replaces Quinn Perry, who is moving to Washington.
