Tragic news out of Canyon County Thursday morning: An 11-year-old child died in an accident involving a school bus and a dump truck.
According to the Idaho Statesman, the child was identified as Daniel Cook. Four other children were hospitalized after the crash, which occurred at 7:56 a.m. at the intersection of Deer Flat and Happy Valley roads.
Twelve children were on the bus, according to the Statesman’s report. They were students in the Kuna School District, and the bus was en route to Kuna’s Crimson Point Elementary School.
