A one-stop student support shop is open for business at the College of Western Idaho.

CWI Thursday marked the opening of its Nampa Campus CapEd Student Success Center. The three-story, 35,000-square-foot center represents another milestone in developing CWI’s main campus in Nampa — and creating a college hub.

The $21.7 million student center will be home to CWI admissions, registration and financial aid offices. A learning commons will bring together CWI’s library, tutoring services and writing and AI literacy center. The center will also house CWI counseling services, veterans and military family services and the campus bookstore.

“With 22 group study, focus, and meeting rooms, students have a variety of options to work independently, collaborate with classmates, and connect with others,” CWI said in a news release marking the opening.

College and state and community leaders gathered on campus for a grand opening ceremony Thursday morning.

“By bringing essential services together under one roof, we are creating a more connected, welcoming, and student-centered experience from enrollment through graduation,” CWI President Gordon Jones said.

The student center is the third major facility to open its doors on the Nampa campus in the past 12 months. A 60,000-square-foot health and science building opened in August 2025. A 40-plus acre agriculture complex opened that same month.
