Day 90: A thank you

Tuesday morning at the State Department of Education began with a thank you — from state superintendent Debbie Critchfield to her staff. The superintendent summarized the 2023 legislative session in a morning meeting, and extended gratitude toward the SDE employees for their dedication to Idaho’s students and teachers.

She later held a check-in meeting with the content and curriculum team, before recording an informational video about the upcoming Prevention and Support Conference — a two-day event for educators, parents, health professionals and others to learn about student mental health, suicide prevention and support for at-risk youth. It will be held in Boise from May 4-5.

She held two additional meetings Tuesday afternoon: one with Reps. Brent and Jaron Crane of Nampa, and another with the SDE executive team.

And rounding out the day, Critchfield spent time Tuesday evening preparing for the April 18 Land Board meeting, with help from SDE Land Board Special Assistant Carl Crabtree.
