ISBA hires new policy and government affairs director

The Idaho School Boards Association has hired Quinn Perry to serve as the organization’s policy and government affairs director.

Quinn Perry

Perry, an Idaho Statehouse veteran who has been working as the director of communications for the Idaho Trial Lawyers Association, replaces Jess Harrison. Harrison left the ISBA earlier this month to become executive director of the Association of Idaho Cities.

At the ISBA, Perry’s new role will involve advocacy and lobbying work at the Statehouse and policy writing for school districts and charters.

“Luckily (the ISBA) is really good about having a legislative agenda and plan,” Perry said.

Perry’s previous legislative and political experience will help her hit the ground running. She said she’s looking forward to building relationships with school trustees, State Department of Education officials and other education stakeholders.

“I’m passionate about education,” Perry said. “I think having a good education is a basic civil right, so I’m excited to be diving into this new field.”

Perry had served with the Idaho Trial Lawyers Association since 2012. She earned a degree in mass communications and journalism, with a certificate of public relations, from Boise State University.

Her first day with ISBA is Nov. 27.

Founded in 1942, the Idaho School Boards Association is a nonprofit organization that provides training and advocacy for school board and charter board members.
