Ririe names new superintendent

Jeff Gee

RIRIE — The Ririe School District selected the principal of a nearby high school to be its next superintendent.

Firth High School principal Jeff Gee will take over as superintendent July 1, trustees announced Monday.

Gee has been Firth’s principal since 2007. He will replace Chad Williams, who was recently hired as the Shelley School District’s superintendent.

“Ririe is a great district,” Gee said. “I’m excited to get out there and be a part of it.”

Ririe School Board chair Jason Ferguson told the Post Register that Gee’s experience in a small district made him stand out among five finalists, including a recently retired superintendent, two school administrators and a Wyoming middle school principal.

Ferguson said Gee’s salary will likely be $87,000.

Ririe serves about 720 students and is located about 20 miles northeast of Idaho Falls.
