U of I reports increase in spring enrollment

The University of Idaho is touting its highest spring enrollment in at least a decade.

Total enrollment came in at 11,408, a 5.8% increase, the U of I said in a news release Monday.

Enrollment numbers increased in several areas:

  • Undergraduate enrollment totaled 6,807, a 4.6% increase.
  • First-time student numbers grew by 4.9%.
  • Transfer student numbers increased by 3.2%.
  • Dual credit enrollment climbed to 1,959, a 28% increase.
  • Law school enrollment increased to 413, up 6.2%.

Enrollment decreased in one area. Graduate enrollment totaled 1,901, a 1.7% drop.

Spring numbers from Idaho’s other colleges and universities weren’t immediately available. Reports are due to the State Board of Education on March 25, board spokesman Mike Keckler said Monday.
