Day 11: Preparing for her budget presentation

Rounding out her second work week, state superintendent Debbie Critchfield met with Speaker of the House, Rep. Mike Moyle, R-Star, and Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee co-chair Rep. Wendy Horman, R-Idaho Falls Friday.

The meetings were part of her preparation for her Jan. 25 budget presentation to JFAC.

After meeting with legislators, the new superintendent met with State Department of Education staff to continue mapping out her next three months.

She hopes to continue making school visits, meeting with stakeholders across the state and conducting outreach, all while juggling the 2023 legislative session and other responsibilities.

The superintendent is also preparing to present to the House and Senate education committees Monday, alongside president of the Idaho State Board of Education president Kurt Liebich.
