The application deadline for Idaho’s Rural and Underserved Educator Incentive Program has been extended from Sept. 30 to Oct. 30, giving educators more time to apply, the State Board of Education announced Wednesday.
The program, now serving its fifth cohort, supports educators teaching in rural and underserved schools by providing up to $12,000 in financial assistance over four years. The funds allow participants to repay federal student loans or get reimbursed for eligible educational expenses, including professional development, certifications and additional degrees.
To apply, educators must be employed full-time as instructional staff, hold an Idaho teaching certificate, work in an eligible rural or underserved school and have qualifying student loan debt or educational expenses.
