Boise narrows trustee candidates to three

Trustees in the Boise School District have named three finalists vying for a place on the board.

  • Andy Hawes, managing partner, Andrew E. Hawes, PLLC
  • Doug Holloway, director, City of Boise Parks and Recreation
  • Christy Little, development services manager, Ada County Highway District

Trustees will interview the finalists Monday afternoon and plan to name the new board member afterward.

The opening on the board follows former Boise Fire Chief Dennis Doan’s resignation, which trustees accepted on March 8.

Other applicants for the position included:

  • Annie Anderson
  • Brian Thomas May
  • Crispin Gravatt
  • Dakin Fish
  • Ethan Sims
  • Gina Wargo
  • Julie Ouchley
  • Patricia Bowen
  • Trish Walker
  • Troy Nickel

This is the second time this school year that Boise trustees will appoint a new member. In September, Troy Rohn announced his resignation from the board, after criticizing the state and federal government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The board chose Elizabeth Langley to fill that position in November.
