The Idaho Department of Education launched an updated version of its school data website, the Idaho Report Card, Wednesday.

The website provides information ranging from academic achievement levels to student demographics to enrollment numbers for every school, charter and district in the state.

“Helping parents and other stakeholders to gain an accurate understanding of how our public schools are performing has been a longstanding goal of mine and the department, and this improved Report Card website is part of that initiative,” Superintendent of Public Instruction Debbie Critchfield said in a news release.

For Idaho education data, check out these websites:

The website’s new features include:

  • Tools that allow users to compare data for up to five schools and districts or to statewide averages.
  • Additional filter functions to select for school type (charter, career technical, alternative, etc), ISAT and IRI results, total enrollment, rural and non-rural locations and legislative districts.
  • Improved landing pages for schools and districts as well as dedicated landing pages for performance measures that include achievement, growth and success indicators.
  • A button for past years’ data that provides a pop-up graph of historical and current information.

“Although this website helps fulfill federal reporting requirements, transparently giving Idahoans an easy but detailed way to fully understand how public education is performing statewide is important to everyone,” Critchfield said.

Federal funds from the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) pay for the site, according to the news release.

The website revamp comes on the heels of another expanded window into education: Transparent Idaho now includes data detailing how schools and districts spent public money and pay their employees, as Clark Corbin of the Idaho Capital Sun reported earlier this month.
