Department of Education to host ISAT Webinar
Educators can register for a webinar to learn more about the Idaho Standards Achievement Test on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 10 a.m.
The webinar will help school leaders understand and prepare for the Idaho Standards Achievement Test, and includes a Q&A period at the end.
Professional Standards Commission seeking nominees
The Idaho Department of Education opened nominations to fill three positions on the Professional Standards Commission.
Teachers at public schools, colleges and universities can be nominated for the roles.
The commission investigates alleged misconduct and violations of the law or code of ethics governing Idaho educators.
Nominations are open until March 1.
Caldwell, Kuna holding community forums for superintendent finalists
Patrons of the Caldwell and Kuna districts can ask questions of their superintendent finalists at upcoming community forums:
- Caldwell’s forum will be Thursday, Feb. 26, at 6:30 p.m. at Syringa Middle School.
- Kuna’s forum will be Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 6 p.m. in the Kuna High School commons area.
The forums, moderated by the district’s boards of trustees, will ask attendees to submit questions via notecards.
ACE Academy starts March 25
High schoolers can sign up for the Aviation Career Exploration (ACE) Academy’s three-day event on industries and careers available in aviation.
The program will delve into aviation and help bridge the gap between learning and flying. Students learn about Idaho’s aerospace industry with hands-on STEM experiences designed to spark careers.

Public television Reading Marathon runs through March
Idaho Public Television’s Reading Marathon challenges kids in kindergarten through sixth grade to read 20 minutes a day throughout March. A printable log helps track the daily progress toward 600 minutes of reading. Participants can earn an Adventure Pass with digital coupons that include activities around the Gem State.

College of Eastern Idaho starts Alumni Network
Graduates of Idaho Falls’ College of Eastern Idaho can join an alumni network.
The college’s foundation operates the network, which is open to alumni at no cost, according to a news release. The college has nearly 100 members.
“The launch of the CEI Alumni Network will be a great boon for local employers and alumni looking to reconnect,” said Nate Sunderland, EastIdahoNews.com managing editor and CEI Alumni Committee member, in a CEI press release.
