Boise opens application window for new trustee

The Boise School District is taking applications for a new board vacancy.

Applications are due at 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 28. Trustees opened the application process after accepting Doug Park’s resignation Monday night.

Park had served on the board since 2013. He resigns with two years remaining in his term. The appointed trustee will serve until the September 2020 board elections.

Trustees hope to name a successor at their Oct. 8 meeting.

The appointee will be the second newcomer on the Boise board. Boise State University administrator Alicia Estey was elected to the board last week; she will replace A J Balukoff, who is stepping down after 21 years as trustee. Incumbents Maria Greeley and Troy Rohn were also re-elected last week.
