Stars and barred: Trustees ban confederate flag

On Monday night, trustees for the COSSA Academy upheld a ruling banning a student from displaying the confederate flag on his car.

Here, from KIVI and KNIN, is a segment on the ruling.

The vote was unanimous, and came after a caravan of about 20 motorists and motorcyclists escorted student Jordan Beattie to the meeting to show their support.

School officials ordered Beattie to take down the flag, calling it a gang signal.

Beattie told KIVI and KNIN he will respect the board’s ruling, but said he is not giving up.
