NNU tweaks fall semester schedule, announces Sept. 6 commencement

Face-to-face fall classes will begin a day early at Northwest Nazarene University.

The semester will open Aug. 31, under a schedule that was compressed in response to the coronavirus pandemic. Semester breaks have been reduced, the fall semester will end a week early and NNU will allow students who leave the Nampa campus for Thanksgiving break to complete fall classes online.

Students will be able to move into university housing during phased move-in times from Aug. 27 through Aug. 29.

Meanwhile, NNU also announced commencement plans for this spring’s graduates.

Ceremonies for the class of 2020 will take place on Sept. 6 at the Ford Idaho Center. Only ticket-holders will be allowed to attend the ceremonies, which were moved to the Idaho Center to maintain social distancing.

Ceremonies for graduate and professional students will be held at 1:30 p.m., and undergraduate commencement will follow at 5:30.
