Idaho politicos attend Jeb Bush ed summit

Here’s a blog item from the Idaho Statesman’s Dan Popkey: 11 Idaho politicians are attending an education conference in Boston this week, hosted by former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush.

Idaho attendees at the National Summit of the Foundation for Excellence in Education: Lt. Gov. Brad Little; Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Luna; Sens. Cherie Buckner-Webb, D-Boise, and Dean Cameron, R-Rupert; and Reps. Grant Burgoyne, D-Boise, Reed DeMourdant, R-Eagle, Wendy Horman, R-Idaho Falls, Donna Pence, D-Gooding, Jeff Thompson, R-Idaho Falls, Julie VanOrden, R-Pingree, and Janie Ward-Engelking, D-Boise.

Bush’s foundation is covering expenses for all Idaho attendees, except Luna, Popkey reports. Idaho Business for Education selected 10 Idaho attendees, to go to the summit at the foundation’s expense; Luna attended on his own, according to the blog post.

Speakers at the Thursday-Friday summit include Bush and former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. Click here for a link to the agenda, and click here for a list of summit sponsors.
