The results are in, from an online ranking, and Boise High School is Idaho’s best public high school.
That’s according to Niche.com, a Pittsburgh-based site that has ranked 14,431 U.S. high schools — based on school statistics and reviews from 280,000 students and parents.

- Wood River High School, Hailey.
- Renaissance High School, Meridian.
- Carey Public School, Carey.
- Meridian Medical Arts Charter High School, Meridian.
- Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy, Coeur d’Alene.
- Moscow Senior High School, Moscow.
- Madison Senior High School, Rexburg.
- Lakeland Senior High School, Rathdrum.
- Timberline High School, Boise.
Academics accounted for 50 percent of the schools’ grades — with scores based on academic statistics and student, parent and alumni surveys. The remaining 50 percent of the grade is based on seven other criteria, including teacher quality, health and safety and resources and facilities.
Niche.com describes itself as a “content startup” that ranks K-12 schools, colleges and neighborhoods by gleaning ratings from students, parents and professionals.
