The Legislature’s school funding formula committee will wrap up its work — for the time being — with a short meeting Wednesday.
The committee will meet at 1 p.m. Wednesday to receive a final report. The meeting, which will be held in room WW17 in the Statehouse’s basement garden level, is expected to last only 30 minutes.
This meeting is something of a formality. It is widely expected that the committee will continue its work through the summer and fall of 2017, and present recommendations to the 2018 Legislature. From the beginning, lawmakers have said it would take two years to study the state’s complicated and delicate school funding formula, and then write recommendations.
Idaho’s current school funding formula has been in place since 1994.
