The state Senate confirmed Debbie Critchfield’s appointment to the State Board of Education Thursday.
Critchfield, of Oakley, has been on the board since July, when Gov. Butch Otter appointed her to a vacant spot on the board.
“I am proud to be a member of the State Board of Education, and I would like to thank Governor Otter and the Idaho Senate for providing me with this opportunity,” Critchfield said in a news release Thursday. “We have a real opportunity to improve elementary, secondary and postsecondary education in Idaho, and as a member of the Board, I look forward to working with my fellow board members, education institutions and community members for the benefit of all Idaho students.”
