Twin Falls teen takes his terminally ill mom to prom

Canyon Ridge High School senior Dylan Huffier escorted his terminally ill mom to his prom in April, after she expressed fears that she’ll miss his future wedding day.

“I thought about it and I can look back after years and years and remember who I went to prom with. I’ll know it was someone I loved who meant something to me,” Dylan told ABC News.

Dylan’s mom Kerry Huffaker was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer in February and doctors gave her months to live.

“I was taken by surprise, that’s for sure,” Kerry told ABC News. “I try not to focus too much on the future. I try to live today as best as I can.”

A family friend has set up a GoFundMe account to raise money for Huffaker’s medical bills and other expenses.
