Thank you to everyone who participated in the EdNews summer photo contest — 109 people entered photos. Blair Anderson, a senior at Potlatch High School, won $100 after 495 votes were tallied on Facebook. Her photo received 161 votes.

Blair’s photo was taken in May at her first cowboy mounted shooting competition in Pendleton, Ore. Blair was introduced to the sport last year.

“I love riding horses and barrel racing,” Blair said. “I decided to give it a try and I love the sport.”

Blair owns her own horse, but uses her friends horse Kid during competition.

“Kid listens well and I have had no problems with him while competing,” Blair said.

After high school graduation, Blair plans to attend North Idaho College.
