Day 76: Final day in D.C.

State superintendent Debbie Critchfield split her day between Idaho and Washington, D.C., enjoying her final day in the nation’s capital for the Council of Chief State School Officers Conference.

Critchfield spent time wandering the nation’s capital Monday evening.

Tuesday morning, Critchfield attended sessions on school leader trainings, federal funding, student well-being, teacher and workforce retention and innovation in the classroom. The conference ended at 12 noon.

She stayed in touch with lawmakers and State Department of Education staff back in Boise, and broke away from the conference to attend a State Land Board meeting.

Critchfield attended a State Land Board meeting virtually, from her hotel room.

Tuesday evening, Critchfield and her team will return to Boise. They’ll be back in the office Wednesday.
